About Me & Commissions
It's been a little over two years of creating jewelry and I have been absolutely in love with the craft all the way through! Sales of my jewelry make it possible to push further into the craft and expand into other interests. This past year I have been able to create a small glass working studio in my dad's shop and hope that with practice and patience you will see some of that work in 2025!
GorgesWireDesign is a one person team, it's just me/Hannah crafting, marketing, photographing, and cataloging my work. You won't see a shipment from anywhere else in the US or abroad when ordering from me and all my work is made with my own two hands. This shop was entirely made possible by a lot of loving and kind family and friends who pushed me to share my work with the world. What started as an interest in all things that glitter and sparkle, has grown exponentially into a real passion and interest in creating beautiful, wearable pieces for special occasions, everyday life and everything in between. My mission is to find new ways to create unique pieces that will never be churned out in large batch jobs, to be able to sustain this growing passion, and to be a reputable, reliable shop that sells great handmade jewelry that will catch eyes and turn heads! Buying a piece here means that you will have something truly unique, genuine, handmade, made in Ithaca, New York by an actual small business. No drop shipping, no scams, no fakeness, just real passion for jewelry and art!
If you don't find anything you like on the shop, favorite the shop and keep checking back, OR reach out to me about commissioning work. I can work with your budget and can find local, trustworthy stones to fit the piece you have in mind.
How Commissions Work:
1. I will ask the following information:
- Your budget
- Your timeline (when you need the piece by, if it's for someone special or an event)
- Any other specific requests: metal type, gemstones, etc.
- This is also the time to send references, sketches, and have conversations about the piece you'd like.
2. I will quote you the work (if it's within my scope of skill), and ask for 25% non-refundable down payment by creating a private digital listing for you to purchase. This is to cover my initial costs of anything I need to buy or restock (metals, beads, cabochons, etc).
3. Once the listing has been purchased, I will get to work and update you along the way!
4. Having to redo the piece may include an additional charge based on metal type and additional resources and may increase the final cost by 150%. For example, if you are quoted $50 for a piece, you'll pay a non-refundable down payment of $12.50, and once I'm finished you would owe the $37.50 remaining, assuming there are no issues. If there are major changes needed that require large adjustments or scraping, depending on the metal, the additional cost could increase by as much as $25 due to metal prices & time. In the end costing a total of $75. Please consider this when requesting major revisions.
5. Once the piece is complete, I will post a private physical item listing for you to purchase the final product. Once purchased, I will ship the piece out to you!
